Artprize 2014
Impermanence Installation
Amway Grand Plaza Hotel
Impermanence was an installation piece that was assembled in the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel for ArtPrize 2014 in Grand Rapids Michigan. The Amway is an ArtPrize venue with excellent visibility and traffic, which attracts local and international visitors. This was my first installation piece and a huge opportunity for me to grow as an artist.
The theme for the room was humanity’s impact upon nature. The growing trend in recycling and green fashions seems to have disillusioned the population into feeling positive about our relationship with natural habitat. The installation is aimed to shock people into realizing that the damage we are doing to the environment far outweighs minimal acts of conservation. We are the most successful invasive species.
