9/17/2013 0 Comments SuppliesJust bought a boat-load of supplies! Thanks Michael's for allowing a 40% coupon on canvas... life saver. Inventory...40 feet of pine board, thread, black acrylic paint, tube lights, heat gun, canvas, screws, nails, & the kitchen sink. I put in some work on the miter and table saws. Just need to scrounge up some burnt umber paint pigment powder and I'll be on a roll.
P.s. PLEASE THINK TWICE BEFORE LOOKING AT A PEICE OF ART AND SAYING, "I could do that... easy." There is more than meets the eye ($, time, idea generation, experimentation, equipment, problem solving, road blocks). I love creating but its not always SMOOTH or PAINLESS. Thanks toodles! BTW... thanks to anyone who has purchased my previous works. You all are a major confidence booster and support system. 9/14/2013 0 Comments Working TIME!Hello again. I am so happy that I can finally continue my Impermanence series. NMU is up and running for the fall 2013 semester so I can use the saws at the studio. I am currently living in Ishpeming and student teaching in Negaunee! It has been a whirlwind of a first two weeks in the middle school. I am loving every second of it. The challenge is invigorating. However, this gives me less time to create! I am squeezing in work time when ever possible. I still have my eyes on submitting my work for Artprize next year! I am really bummed that I won't get to make it this time around but soon enough my friends! Here are some pictures of my progress... This next piece is going to be horizontal. This is a giant strip of fabric that I soaked in coffee grounds. Hanging out to dry & stain. 2 (1'x1') frames and 1 (3'x1') The stitching process has begun. I changed up the style of stitching from the first Impermanence piece.
